About Rwanda Gorilla Trekking

This site is an independent guide to gorilla trekking in Rwanda and a comparison of the tours that take you to Volcanoes National Park: one-day treks from Kigali, tours with the permit included, multi-day trips, golden monkey treks and Bisoke hikes. We do not operate or personally conduct these tours. The full line-up sits in the Rwanda gorilla trekking catalog.

Why It Exists

Most gorilla trekking tours look alike on a booking page: a day from Kigali, a briefing at Kinigi and an hour with a gorilla family. They differ in what decides the bill: whether the $1,500 gorilla permit is in the price, where the pickup is, how long the day runs and what else is included.

Those are the columns of the comparison here, read off each listing.

Where the Figures Come From

Tour prices, ratings, review counts and inclusions come from the listing on the platform that sells each tour. Permit prices, park rules and visa fees come from the Rwanda Development Board, Visit Rwanda, Irembo, the Uganda Wildlife Authority and the other official sources linked on each page.

When two sources disagree, the page gives both or leaves the figure out.

What You Will Not Find

There is no invented guide or local expert behind these pages, and no claim that anyone from the site joined a trek. Reviews shown are short excerpts from four and five star platform reviews. Fees that no official source publishes, such as porter rates, are not printed.

How the Site Is Paid For

The booking buttons are affiliate links to GetYourGuide and Viator. If you book through one, the platform pays a commission and your price does not change. No operator pays for a place, a badge or the pick.

The details are on the affiliate disclosure page.
